I share a calm, warm and empathetic approach. I relate with clients in a non-judgemental, kind and respectful way that won’t make you feel uncomfortable, belittled or pressured, while working with you to manage the reality of the situation you are facing.

The benefits of counselling

Seeing a qualified counsellor gives you a confidential and non-judgemental space in which to share your concerns, worries and the issues you are facing in life.

There are so many benefits to counselling, including:

  • Gaining different perspectives on your problems and issues
  • Gives you clarity of thought and decision-making
  • Increases your confidence, self-esteem and motivation
  • Improving your personal relationships
  • Enhanced physical and mental wellbeing
  • Coping better with everyday life or difficult situations

Counselling can also be a very cathartic experience where you let go of options and concerns that you have been bottling inside for many months or years. It is an opportunity to confront your feelings with a person who will listen without judgement in a safe place and help you to move forward.

Counselling may help with the following:

  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Social anxieties
  • Sadness and Low Mood
  • Depression
  • Self-esteem or lack of confidence
  • Grief and loss
  • Relationships issues

  • Addiction and substance abuse
  • Gender identity and/or sexuality

What to expect from your first appointment

As a form of talk therapy, no two sessions will be the same. The first session is a chance for you to establish a trusting relationship, to talk freely about deeply personal matters.
As a counsellor, Catherine is a very good listener so she will ask questions and give you space to share your thoughts, feelings and concerns. From there, she will help you to identify the stressors or triggers that are concerning you. She can help you gain clarity and find coping strategies to help you through your current concerns or issues.
Catherine will work with you to build a plan to move forward. Healing and problem solving takes time and care. Treatment is individually tailored to your needs.
